Who says barbecue sauce is only for grilling, (or meat for that for matter)? There are so many other great ways to use the, spicy, sweet, tangy, and smokey condiment that it’s a shame not to dip into it’s flavoring possibilities more often. To give you an idea of the seasoning power of Chef Larry Lee’s Too Thick To Squeeze, The BBQ Dipping Sauce, I have put together this list of ideas. They’re all quick, easy ways to rock your meals with incredible BBQ flavor – without firing up the grill!

Baked Beans
Spicy or Not
Simmer 3 cups cooked great northern, cannellini, or pinto beans ( two 15-ounce cans ) with 1 cup BBQ Sauce for 5 to 10 mkinutes to meld the flavors. For spicer flavor, try one of these add-ins: 1 tsp mustard, ½ tsp vinegar, ½ tsp chili powder, pinch of cayenne, few drops of hot sauce.

Pulled Jack Fruit

Drain and rinse canned jackfruit in brine ( from 20 oz can ). Coarsely chop Jackfruit, transfer it to a medium saucepan, and stir in ½ cup BBQ Sauce and ½ cup water. Simmer over medium- low heat 10 to 15 minutes, or until sauce has thickened and Jackfruit is tender. Serve on Whole Grain buns or in Whole Wheat tortillas.

Baked Tofu
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet
Brush slices of firm tofu with BBQ Sauce, spread the tofu on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and bake for 20 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees, or until firm and beginning to crisp around the edges. Enjoy on sandwiches and in salads.

Roasted Squash
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet
Brush slices of Winter, or Summer Squash with BBQ Sauce and roast on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 20 – 30 minutes at 400 degrees, or until browned and tender. Serve as a light maindish with Whole grains or as a hearty side dish.

Whole Cauliflower
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet
Steam or boil a whole Cauliflower head for 15 minutes, or until JUST tender. Brush with BBQ Sauce and roast at 450 degrees for 20-30 minutes, or until browned and crisp. Slice and serve as a main, or side dish.
